How treasure hunting works in Go-Go Town
The 1.0 treasure system adds bugs, fish, fossils, artifacts, gems, relics, and other collectibles. Finds can appear in fishing spots, dig sites, mining nodes, on terrain, and in outer zones. Bring the tool used by that activity rather than expecting every treasure to be picked up directly.
Your phone's Collections App records discoveries and how many remain. Town Hall contains display space, more displays can be purchased from its vending machine with EGO, and Arizona Smythe III accepts duplicate finds.
Treasure biomes and the maps they include
| Collection biome | Maps included |
|---|---|
| Town | Town Centre |
| Forest | Forest, Deep Forest, The Hedgewarrens, Petal Grove |
| Desert | Desert and Junkyard |
| Mines | Mine and Mine Tunnel |
| Sewer | Sewer |
All treasure spawn times
Some treasures span several adjacent blocks, while others appear in one narrow four-hour window. ‘Any Time’ entries ignore these time restrictions. If the correct biome produces the wrong variants, revisit it in another block before changing maps.
| Time label | In-game hours |
|---|---|
| Night | 22:00–02:00 |
| Dawn | 02:00–06:00 |
| Morning | 06:00–10:00 |
| Day | 10:00–14:00 |
| Afternoon | 14:00–18:00 |
| Dusk | 18:00–22:00 |
Rarity and terrain rules
The official Wiki describes Common as very high spawn chance, Uncommon as high, Rare as medium, Epic as low, and Legendary as very low. A long search is therefore not proof that the listed condition is wrong.
Terrain can also matter. Grassy terrain includes standard Grass plus several seasonal or themed grass tiles. Sandy terrain includes Dirt, Sand, and Slow Sand. Other entries allow any terrain.
| Rarity | Relative spawn chance |
|---|---|
| Common | Very high |
| Uncommon | High |
| Rare | Medium |
| Epic | Low |
| Legendary | Very low |
Two missing-treasure examples from the current table
Solar Eel is a timing problem before it is a luck problem. Its current entry is Legendary, Desert biome, any terrain, and 10:00–14:00. Working Desert or Junkyard fishing spots at night cannot produce the listed result; move the attempt into the Day block first.
Lizard in Amber is the opposite case. It is listed for every biome, any terrain, and any time, but only as a Legendary fossil from dig sites. Changing maps or sleeping to another time block does not improve the stated conditions—keep using dig sites and expect the rarity to be the bottleneck.
| Treasure | Use | Biome | Time | Rarity |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solar Eel | Fishing spots | Desert group | 10:00–14:00 | Legendary |
| Lizard in Amber | Dig sites | Any biome | Any time | Legendary |
A practical route for missing treasures
-
Check the Collections App first
Record the missing treasure's type, biome, terrain, time, and rarity instead of searching every map randomly.
-
Carry the matching tool
Artifacts and fossils use dig sites; gems use mining nodes; fish use fishing spots. Bugs and other categories follow their own collection interaction.
-
Search every map inside the biome group
Use Fast Travel to include external zones such as Junkyard, Deep Forest, Mine Tunnel, and Sewer.
-
Return during the exact time block
For a narrow spawn, arrive near the start of its four-hour window and work the relevant nodes until the block changes.
-
Display one and sell duplicates
Keep collection pieces in Town Hall displays; duplicate finds can be taken to Arizona Smythe III.
Why old treasure locations may be wrong
PC hotfix 1.0.25992 changed terrain spawn rules for some bug treasures, fixed bugs that were not spawning in Sewers and caves, and widened some bug and fish time windows. Guides or videos recorded before July 27 may therefore show older conditions.
Hotfix 1.0.26109 on August 3 then fixed the spawn times for Eclipse Eel. If an older table or video shows a different window for that Desert eel, the post-August 3 behavior is the current one.
Hotfix 1.0.26228 on August 16 fixed the collection record so a treasure's quantity and best size remain remembered after you sell the item.
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Where do treasures spawn in Go-Go Town?
Treasures can appear in Town Centre, Forest-group maps, Desert and Junkyard, Mine and Mine Tunnel, and Sewer. Their exact biome, terrain, time, and node type depend on the collectible.
What do I do with duplicate treasures?
The official 1.0 announcement directs players to Arizona Smythe III inside Town Hall to sell extra finds.
Did Go-Go Town change any treasure spawn times recently?
Yes. Hotfix 1.0.26109 fixed Eclipse Eel spawn times, while 1.0.25992 adjusted terrain rules and time windows for some bugs and fish. Hotfix 1.0.26228 later fixed collection quantity and best-size memory after selling a treasure.
Why is a Go-Go Town treasure not spawning?
Confirm the correct biome group, terrain, time block, and gathering node. Legendary items have a very low chance, and older pre-1.0.25992 guides may show outdated rules.
