How many copies of Go-Go Town! do you need?
For online play, each online player needs their own copy of the game. For local split-screen, only the host system needs a copy. On PC, local and online players can be mixed within the four-player total.
Nintendo online play requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership. The Nintendo store currently lists one or two players on a single system and one or two players online.
The host owns the town save
Multiplayer takes place in the host’s town. Players use the Multiplayer App on the in-game phone to host or join, and PC players can join through Steam friends or an invite code.
The host can assign permission levels such as Vice Mayor, Townie, or Tourist. Coins and EGO are shared within that town, while characters and carried items remain associated with the world and save they joined.
- Give build and spending permissions only to players who should manage the town.
- A guest cannot continue the host’s town independently without that host save.
- Do not assume cross-save or PC–Switch save transfer; the official FAQ does not confirm either.
