Finding Garbirds and clearing up after them
Garbirds can arrive in a weather event and cause trouble around town. Use the Locate Emergency emote to find them.
Rubbish on the ground contributes to the summoning check. Since 1.0.25886, that check ignores rubbish outside the town level; it does not mean unzoned tiles are exempt.
What changed in the July 19 rebalance
The July rebalance reduced Garbird numbers and frequency. These are historical changes, not a list of values for the new activity slider.

Garbird bugs fixed since launch
- Hotfix 1.0.25992 (July 27): weather-event Garbirds could be invincible while running around just before despawning. Fixed.
- Hotfix 1.0.25992 (July 27): online co-op clients could not see Garbird Feather State changes. Fixed.
- Hotfix 1.0.26109 (August 3) fixed tourists getting stuck while trying to put rubbish in bins.
Stinky tourists vs. stinky garbage: the August 3 split
Since 1.0.26109, tourists react differently to smelly people and smelly rubbish. Exact reaction values have not been verified. A dirty visitor and a pile of rubbish should not be treated as the same trigger.
Adjust Garbird activity in Options
On PC 1.0.26502, open Options and look for the Garbird Slider. Lower it for less Garbird activity or raise it for more.
A slider is now available, but its minimum has not been verified as a complete off switch. Scarecrows and feeding troughs are not confirmed controls for this version.

Keep town-level floors clean
The summon check counts rubbish on the floor, and since 1.0.25886 only rubbish on the town level counts. Bins and maintenance staff reduce what remains there.
